Why I tried to kill myself twice – Tiwa Savage

Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she tried to kill herself twice.

Tiwa Savage in a Black Field interview with media character, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, on Monday, stated the incident occurred whereas finding out in London.

The ‘Koroba’ crooner stated she nearly took her personal life as a result of bullying she obtained as a black child in London.

She narrated that her robust Nigerian accent was mocked by her classmates and he or she needed to get a Police escort.

“I moved to London with my mum at age 10. I used to be teased so badly. They used to name me ‘African woman’, ‘Foo foo’, ‘Your meals smells’ and so forth. It was horrible. It was so unhealthy that I actually tried to kill myself two occasions. I used to be actually depressed.

“I used to be actually bullied; they are going to flush my head down the bathroom throughout lunch break. I needed to have a police escort me generally as a result of after college they might rush me on the bus.

“These have been gangs of women, it was actually unhealthy. I needed to bleach to be lighter and was rising my hair. The bullying went on for 3 to 4 years.”
