Two policemen, driver travelling to pick sergeant corpse die in Kogi

Three individuals, together with two police inspectors, on Thursday, died in an accident on Ajaokuta-Ojodu-Ayingba street in Kogi State.

Federal Highway Security Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Solomon Aghure, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Lokoja.

He disclosed that the victims have been travelling in an ambulance.

The policemen and the motive force have been on the street with a casket to select the corpse of a police sergeant from a mortuary in Ayingba.

The car collided with a Mercedes Benz truck coming from the other way at a spot in Ojodu group.

Police spokesman, DSP William Aya, additionally confirmed the incident to NAN.

Aya defined that the 2 policemen have been detailed to select the deceased sergeant and accompany to Adamawa for burial as requested by the household.

He stated that the motive force of the truck and his motor boy ran away to evade arrest.

The corpses of the 2 police inspectors had been deposited at a morgue in Lokoja, whereas that of the civilian driver of the ambulance had been launched to his household.
