The Osun State Police Command on Wednesday arraigned three suspects, Samson Lucas (25), Ayo Olamide (25), and Olalekan Omoniyi (22) in an Osogbo Magistrates’ Courtroom over alleged possession of Indian hemp.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Elijah Olusegun, informed the courtroom that the defendants dedicated the offence on Sept. 3, at about 1:00 a.m within the Orile-Owu space of Osogbo.
Olusegun stated {that a} workforce of police on patrol arrested the defendants with the illegal substance.
The prosecutor stated they have been caught smoking the weed and trying to embark on legal actions.
He stated the offence contravened Sections 516 and 509 of the Legal Code Cap 34 Vol.11, Legal guidelines of Osun, 2002.
The defendants pleaded not responsible to the four-count cost most popular towards them.
The defence counsel, Mr Olatunbosun Oladipupo, prayed the courtroom to grant his consumer bail in probably the most liberal phrases.
The Justice of the Peace, Mr F. J. Omisade, granted the defendants bail within the sum of N300,000 with one surety every in like sum.
Omisade stated the sureties have to be shut kinfolk of the defendants, reside throughout the courtroom’s jurisdiction and present proof of tax funds to the state authorities.
The Justice of the Peace additional ordered them to deposit their passport sized images and fasten affidavit of means.
