Sultan directs Muslims to look out for new month moon

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’advert Abubakar III, on Tuesday, directed Muslim trustworthy to look out for the brand new moon of Jumada al-akhir 1442AH from Wednesday.

The monarch made the decision in an announcement by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Chairman, Advisory Committee on Spiritual Affairs, Sultanate Council.

“That is to tell the Muslim Ummah that Wednesday, January 13, which is equal to twenty ninth day of Jumada al-awwal 1442AH shall be the day to search for the brand new moon of Jumada al-akhir 1442AH”, it learn.

The council urged trustworthy to report its sighting to the closest District or Village Head.

The Sultan prayed for Allah’s assist to encourage the Muslims within the discharge of their spiritual duties.
