Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed unhappiness on the demise of his predecessor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
The 2-term governor died on Thursday in a Lagos hospital after battling sickness worsened by the coronavirus illness.
In a condolence message to the Ajimobi household and the folks of Oyo, Mr Makinde directed that the state’s flag fly at half mast on Friday.
“I used to be so sorry to listen to the information of the passing away of the instant previous Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, which unhappy occasion occurred earlier at the moment,” he stated.
“I can’t start to think about the ache the household should be going via right now due to the lack of their patriarch. It’s my prayer that God grants all of them the energy to bear this nice loss.
“I be a part of the nice folks of Oyo State as we mourn the demise of a statesman. I’ve directed that flags fly at half-mast tomorrow in honour of our brother, good friend and illustrious son of Oyo State.
“Certainly, he can be remembered for leaving a blueprint for a few of the actions that our administration is now endeavor.
“The Oyo State Authorities can be extending to his household, all of the courtesies deserving of his personage. Could his soul relaxation in peace.”
