Senate President Denies Involvement In NPower Scheme Fraud


Senate President Ahmad Lawan has dismissed stories that he was allotted job slots within the ongoing federal authorities empowerment scheme, NPower.

Naija Information stories that an internet newspaper had claimed that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Catastrophe Administration had allotted some Npower slots to the Senate President and a few lawmakers.

In a press release on Saturday by his spokesperson, Ola Awoniyi, Ahmed Lawan urged Nigerians to ignore such claims.

Lawan who described the allegation as a faux and malicious urged the media to be factual of their stories and abide strictly by the ethics of their career.

The assertion reads: “The eye of the Workplace of the Senate President has been drawn to a publication on the Sahara Reporters portal purporting that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Catastrophe Administration allotted NPower recruitment slots to the Senate President and different lawmakers

“We hereby advise members of the general public to completely disregard the faux and malicious publication in its entirety as regards the Senate President.

“It ought to be famous that the fairytale solely blandly and obliquely claimed that some lawmakers printed out software types from the portal of the scheme however failed to offer any proof that this was to fill its speculated allotted slots.

“We want to stress that neither the Senate President nor this workplace has something to do with the purported slots mischievously credited by the publication to the Senate President.
