President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Malawi opposition alliance chief, Lazarus Chakwera for his victory within the nation’s presidential election re-run.
Malawi Electoral Fee (MEC) late Saturday declared opposition alliance chief Lazarus Chakwera because the winner of Tuesday’s presidential re-run election.
Making the announcement, MEC chairperson Justice Chifundo Kachale stated that Chakwera, chief of the Tonse Alliance bagged 2,604,043 votes, representing 58.5 p.c of the whole votes solid.
The alliance gained the re-run 5 months after the primary vote with 58.57 p.c of the whole votes as declared by the nation’s electoral fee.
