The Home of Representatives has requested Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, to publish, inside 48 hours, members of the ninth Nationwide Meeting who bought sixty p.c of contracts from the Niger Delta Improvement Fee (NDDC).
Ruling on a matter of privileges introduced by Minority chief, Ndudi Elumelu, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila stated the Minister, who alleged 60 p.c of contracts from the NDDC got to members of the Nationwide Meeting, ought to publish the benefiting lawmakers, particularly members of the ninth Meeting.
He additional stated the names of their firms and the contracts they bought must be revealed or face the wrath of the Home.
Though he stated his preliminary response was to have a very good giggle when the Minister made the allegations, he realised it infringes on the integrity of the Home.
He stated the Minister owes it an obligation to himself, the Home Committee on Niger Delta, the folks of Niger Delta and Nigerians to publish the names of lawmakers who bought contracts from the NDDC.
