Ondo 2020: Atiku reacts as Jegede defeats Akeredolu’s deputy, Ajayi at PDP primaries

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has congratulated Eyitayo Jegede for rising winner of the simply concluded Peoples Democratic Celebration, PDP, major election in Ondo State.

Jegede defeated Ondo State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to clinch the ticket.

Out of the 2111 delegates who voted throughout the primaries which lasted about eight hours, Jegede who was the standard-bearer of the social gathering in 2016, polled 888 votes to emerge the winner, whereas his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi scored 667.

Following the end result, Jegede will slug it out with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of the APC within the upcoming governorship election on October 10, 2020.

Reacting, Atiku on Twitter referred to as on all stakeholders to help Jegede in the primary election.

He wrote, “Congratulations @TayoJegedeSAN, in your emergence because the candidate of the @OfficialPDPNig for the Ondo state governorship election developing in October.

“Now {that a} candidate has emerged within the keenly contested major, it’s time for Mr Eyitayo Jegede working in live performance with our nice social gathering, @OfficialPDPNig, to forge a united entrance to win the election.

“It’s incumbent upon us as one large, united household, to succeed in out to different contestants and stakeholders for us to construct a formidable arsenal that can guarantee clear victory on the polls.”
