Ogun: Two dead, six injured as bus somersaults on Independence Day

Two individuals, a person and a lady, have died in an accident at Awowo Village, alongside Abeokuta-Sango freeway, Ogun State.

Six different passengers have been reportedly injured when a mini yellow bus conveying them somersaulted.

It was realized that the driving force was amongst these injured within the crash.

The Ogun State Visitors Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps has confirmed that the street crash occurred round midday on Thursday.

The TRACE Spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, advised DAILY POST that the lone accident concerned an 8-seater yellow passenger bus with registration quantity, FKJ 97 XY.

“In line with an eyewitness, the crash was brought on by ‘over-speeding’ and lack of management at a bend, earlier than the bus finally somersaulted.

“The lifeless victims have been taken to Ifo Normal Hospital Morgue whereas the injured have been taken to Ijaiye Normal Hospital and the automobile, towed to the Itori Divisional Police Station,” he stated.

Akinbiyi defined that the business bus was inbound Abeokuta when the unlucky crash occurred.

He added, “the 2 lifeless victims have been deposited on the morgue of Ifo Normal Hospital, whereas the injured have been taken to Ijaiye Normal Hospital, Abeokuta.

“The yellow mini-bus was taken to Itori Divisional Police Station.”

Whereas commiserating with the household of the deceased victims, the visitors company warned motorists to desist from overspeeding.
