Nigeria Armed Forces Day: FG orders closure of roads, Federal Secretariat

Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) has warned the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria (MACBAN) to desist from “plot” to infiltrate the Southwest Safety Community (Amotekun).

The Yoruba organisation gave the warning in response to MACBAN’s name for inclusion of its members and different ethnic our bodies within the outfit.

OPC stated the demand was a ploy to weaken the Amotekun and put the area in “perpetual safety menace”.

The group’s Publicity Secretary, Yinka Oguntimehin, in a press release on Tuesday, suggested MACBAN to drop the concept.

“OPC won’t ever enable Miyetti Allah to set our area on hearth. We can not afford to see the South-West going through the type of safety challenges confronted day by day within the North-East and North-West.

“Our group won’t ever fold its arms and permit overrun by herdsmen and marauders. That’s the reason we’re warning leaders of the group to desist from their sinister motives and go away Amotekun alone within the area.”

Oguntimehin lambasted the chief of herders in Oyo State, Ibrahim Jiji for making the “unrealistic request”, sustaining that MACBAN lacked credibility.

The spokesman urged the Federal Authorities to beam a searchlight on Jiji, noting that no Yoruba group ever demanded to be included into Northern formations like Hisbah, Center Belt safety outfit, amongst others.

He vowed that OPC will resist any try and soil the identify of Amotekun.
