Bola Tinubu, Nationwide Chief of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has described ex-Army Administrator of Lagos State, Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu as a uncommon breed for his singular consistency and unwavering dedication to social justice, democracy and federalism in Nigeria.
Tinubu lamented that Kanu who so “beloved this nation and its many individuals” handed from us on Wednesday in Lagos State at 77.
He said this in a press release signed by his Media Aide, Tunde Rahman.
Tinubu stated: “I’m deeply saddened by the passing of former navy administrator of Lagos and Imo states, Actual Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu.
“He was my brother and a really brave accomplice within the battle for democracy and enthronement of true federalism in Nigeria.
In every little thing he did, from his work as former administrator of Lagos State to the sacrifices he made to assist NADECO through the battle for the actualization of June 12, Actual Admiral Kanu was extremely principled. He supplied democratic imaginative and prescient and significant concepts to advance that historic battle.
“He was a patriot and a progressive. A uncommon breed in his constant and unwavering dedication to social justice, democracy, and workable federalism in Nigeria.
“Admiral Kanu was a Lagosian, true Nigerian nationalist in the easiest sense of that phrase.
“After his retirement, he freely gave of himself to convey progress to Lagos State by lending inventive concepts in addition to the fruits of his ample expertise to successive administrations in Lagos together with mine from 1999 to 2007.
“He demonstrated true perception and curiosity within the progress and improvement of the state.
“Along with his immense expertise and delicate mien, the admiral supplied intelligence and significant recommendation which at all times proved useful in fixing issues at vital instances.
“My deepest condolences now go to his household, notably his spouse and kids, and all those that beloved and revered this extraordinary Lagosian and Nigerian. Might God strengthen and luxury them at this second for less than He might help them bear this loss.
“I lengthen my sympathies to Governors Babajide Sanwo-olu and Hope Uzodinma of Lagos and Imo States, the governments and folks of the 2 states which Rear Admiral Kanu served with such distinction and dedication.
