NCDC prompts 5 new COVID-19 testing labs throughout 30 States

The Nigeria Centre for Illness Management (NCDC) has activated 5 (5) new COVID-19 testing laboratories throughout 30 States of the federation.

The 5 new laboratories are – Edo Specialist Hospital, Benin; ATBU Instructing Hospital, Bauchi; Rivers Indorama Firm Molecular Lab; State Specialist Hospital, Amachara, Abia; and College of Abuja, Gwagwalada GX Lab.

The NCDC disclosed this in an announcement Tuesday in Abuja.

This brings the cumulative tally of laboratories within the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Community to 58.

There are at present 46 PCR diagnostic machines and 12 GeneXpert laboratories in Nigeria.

Additionally, the entire variety of COVID-19 checks carried out as at 21st July is 218,233.
