Lyon confirm talks with Arsenal for Aouar

Lyon Sporting Director, Juninho, has confirmed he had talks with Arsenal over a potential transfer for Houssem Aouar.

In accordance with Juninho, Aouar is “actually appreciated” by Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta.

Aouar is thought to be some of the thrilling younger midfielders in France and has emerged as a critical goal for Arsenal, after impressing as Lyon reached the Champions League semi-final final season.

Arteta has set his sights on strengthening his midfield, after bringing within the Brazilian duo of Willian and Gabriel Magalhaes.

He’s even ready to let Matteo Guendouzi go away after a collection of behavioural points and the Frenchman was provided to Lyon in a possible player-plus-cash deal for Aouar.

However in line with Juninho, Guendouzi is the “mistaken profile” for the membership.

“I get on very effectively with Edu (Arsenal Technical Director), we spoke on the telephone,” Juninho advised French outlet RMC Sport.

“Aouar is admittedly appreciated by Mikel Arteta.

“Guendouzi was mentioned throughout the name, he is a superb participant, however he’s the mistaken profile.

“We aren’t keen on that in any respect, we lower the dialog.”
