SULTAN of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’advert Abubakar III, has urged Muslims throughout the nation to look out for the brand new moon of Dhul Hijjah (Islamic 12th month) 1441 AH as from at this time (July 21), the equal of 29th day of Dhul Qadah 1441 AH.
The brand new moon of Dhul Hijjah 1441 will decide the day of Eid-el-Kabir festivity (on the 10th day of the month) after the observance of the Mount Arafat spiritual rights in Saudi Arabia.
In a press release on Monday by the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Spiritual Affairs, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, the Sultan suggested Muslims to report the sighting of the brand new moon to the closest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan.
“Muslims are, due to this fact, requested to start out trying it for the brand new moon of Dhul Hijjah 1441 AH on Tuesday and report its sighting to the closest district or village head for onward communication to His Eminence, Muhammad Sa’advert Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto,” the assertion stated.
