The Impartial Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC) says it’s getting ready for a bye-election to switch a member of the Enugu State Home of Meeting, late Chijioke Ugwueze, who died just lately.
DAILY POST had reported that Ugwueze died of coronary heart failure, in line with household sources, on June 19 on the age of 49.
Nonetheless, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Enugu, Dr Emeka Ononamadu, in a press release launched to newsmen on Wednesday in Enugu mentioned the fee has fastened a date for the bye-election.
Ononamadu mentioned that the fee had fastened Oct. 31, 2020, for the conduct of the bye-election to switch the late lawmaker from Isi-Uzo state constituency.
“For now, we’re getting ready for the bye-election to switch the state lawmaker from Isi-Uzo state constituency.
“Extra particulars on the preparation will probably be communicated very quickly,’’ he mentioned.
