Financial institution accounts of Nigerians who performed key roles within the Finish SARS protests have been frozen and a kind of affected has written an open letter to CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.
The Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) had directed that accounts of Finish SARS frontiners be frozen after receiving the nod of the Federal Excessive Court docket in Abuja. The apex financial institution reportedly instructed banks to position a “Put up No Debit” restriction on the accounts until January 2021.
The request was granted by Justice Ahmed Mohammed and was filed by the CBN on October 20, based on ChannelsTV.
A few of the affected people are Bolatito Racheal Oduala, Chima David Ibebunjoh, Mary Doose Kpengwa, Saadat Temitope Bibi, Bassey Victor Israel, Knowledge Busaosowo Obi, Nicholas Ikhalea Osazele, Ebere Idibie, Akintomide Lanre Yusuf, Uhuo Ezenwanyi Promise and Mosopefoluwa Odeseye.
Others are: Adegoke Pamilerin Yusif. Umoh Grace Ekanem, Babatunde Victor Segun, Mulu Louis Teghenan, Mary Oshifowora, Winifred Akpevweoghene Jacob, Victor Solomon, Idunu A. Williams, and Gatefield Nigeria Restricted.
Bassey Victor Israel took to Twitter immediately November 10, to submit an open letter to Emefiele relating to his frozen checking account.
He wrote:
GoodMorning Godwin Emefiele
Your son has sufficient meals to eat, I ate simply as soon as yesterday
Your son is sleeping in his room, I’m begging my landlord to not throw my issues out
Your son has pocket cash, I’ve pocket drought
Supporting #EndSARS isn’t against the law, unfreeze my accounts
He added:
At this stage I’d be mendacity if I stated I don’t need assistance. I’d respect something I can get from anyone. Nothing is simply too small. It is going to go a great distance to assist me filter out some money owed incurred over the past 3 weeks and in addition maintain myself for the subsequent 3 months. Please. God bless you
