The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has threatened to impose recent restrictions on worship centres within the state.
Wike, on Sunday, expressed his displeasure at flagrant violation of COVID-19 rules by church buildings within the state.
He acknowledged this whereas talking on the Saint Thomas Anglican Church in Mile 2 Diobu, in Port Harcourt Native Authorities Space, throughout Chief Azubuike Nmerukini’s household particular thanksgiving service in honour of his spouse, Dame Oroma Nmerukini.
Wike stated he noticed in the course of the service that greater than 80 per cent of worshippers didn’t put on facemasks.
In a press release by his Particular Assistant, Media, Kelvin Ebiri, he warned if violation of the protocol continued, he would revisit his place on worshippers permitted in worship centres.
