The Inspector-Common of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has confirmed that bandits attacked officers in Kaduna State on Friday.
Power Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, in an announcement on Sunday disclosed that the personnel have been hooked up to Police Cell Power – 9 Squadron, Kano.
He famous that the staff was returning to their base in Kano after finishing an Operation Puff Adder obligation in Niger State.
They have been ambushed alongside the Birnin-Gwari Funtua Freeway.
Mba denied the kidnapping of 18 officers, and insisted solely 16 have been waylaid.
The spokesman stated the personnel “efficiently repelled the assault and neutralised the bandits”, whereas others scampered into the bush “with gunshot accidents”.
“Regrettably, 4 of the officers paid the supreme worth through the trade whereas an officer remains to be lacking,” he stated.
Mba stated the remaining 11, led by their Unit Commander, efficiently recovered the our bodies and firearms of fallen colleagues.
The assertion added that efforts have been being intensified to rescue the lacking officer.
