Flood submerges 50 buildings, others in Niger

Fifty homes and property have been submerged by flood in Gallah ward of Agwara Native Authorities of Niger State.

The lawmaker representing Borgu-Agwara Federal Constituency, Jafaru Mohammed, stated this on Thursday when he visited the world.

Mohammed was accompanied by Agwara Council Chairman, Nura Kokoli.

He commiserated with the victims and warranted them of help.

“They want our assist now and by the particular grace of God we are going to do one thing,” NAN quoted him as saying.

The Nationwide Meeting member promised to current the report back to the Nationwide Emergency Administration Company (NEMA).

The legislator and the council chairman donated the sum of N1million as joint efforts to help the victims.

Kokoli recalled that the torrential rain began within the early hours of Tuesday and lasted for a number of hours.

He listed possessions affected as homes, retailers, mosques, church buildings, automobiles, bikes, bicycles, crops, livestock and poultry.

Noting that many are actually homeless, he stated a report can be submitted to the Niger State Emergency Administration Company (NSEMA).
