The Kano State Emergency Administration Company (SEMA) on Friday mentioned that fifty-four individuals misplaced their lives and 30,356 homes destroyed by flood this wet season within the state.
The Govt Secretary of the company, Dr Saleh Jili, made this recognized in an interview with NAN in Kano.
Jili defined that the information which minimize throughout the 44 Native Authorities Areas of Kano was recorded from June to October 2020.
Based on him, the affected LGAs are Rogo; Kabo, Gezawa, Bebeji, Shanono, Wudil Kura, Gaya and Gwarzo.
Others have been Danbatta; Ungogo, Gwale, Warawa, Tarauani, Nasarawa, Dala, Kumbotso, Bagwai, Rimin Gado, and Kano Municipal amongst others.
He mentioned, “30,356 homes destroyed and 54 individuals misplaced their lives with 81 individuals injured as a consequence of flood, windstorm and rainstorm from June thus far.
“The company has recorded 2,177 fireplace outbreaks and 9,127 farmlands destroyed within the catastrophe.
“The displaced individuals are taking shelter with their kinfolk within the affected communities.
“We’re on the affected areas to sympathise with the victims and distribute reduction supplies to alleviate their sufferings.”
