Fayose, Shehu Sani condemn new petrol price increase by Buhari govt

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, and Shehu Sani, former Kaduna Central Senator, have reacted to the rise in petrol value to N151.56 per litre.

DAILY POST remembers that the Pipelines and Product Advertising Firm (PPMC), a subsidiary of the Nigerian Nationwide Petroleum Company, NNPC on Wednesday introduced the increment.

The brand new value takes impact from September 2, 2020.

Reacting in a tweet through his official Twitter account on Wednesday, Fayose lamented that the increment was an added burden on Nigerians amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Petrol is now N151.56. The increment was made when different nations are adopting measures to cut back the consequences of COVID-19 lockdown on their residents.

“Simply in case those that led the Save Nigeria protests throughout Nigeria through the PDP govt of Jonathan are usually not conscious. I warned.”

On his half, Sani wrote: “What’s going up; International loans, Electrical energy tariff, Gasoline pump value, Price of Information, Price of Rice, VATs, Tuition charges, Price of residing; What’s taking place; Worth of the Naira, International reserve.”
