Elder Statesman and President Basic Enugu State Affiliation, Chief Elechi Onyia, SAN, has paid glowing tributes to the founding fathers of Enugu State, for his or her invaluable contributions, and unrelenting struggles that made the creation of the State a actuality.
Onyia additionally lauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the State for his high quality management at the moment within the lifetime of the State.
He singled out the dedication and selfless sacrifice of notable icons like Chief Charles Abangwu, Chief C.C. Onoh, Igwe Edward Nnaji, Woman Josephine Ogakwu, Senator Isaiah Ani, Woman Elizabeth Agu, Justice Augustine Nnamani, Igwe Chris Ogakwu all the blessed reminiscence, in addition to Col Obi Eze, Alhaji Abdulezeez Udeh, Chief John Edozie, amongst others.
He declared that “with out the sacrifices of those illustrious little children of WAWA land, Enugu State would have been a mirage.”
Chief Onyia, who made this name whereas delivering his presidential handle to newsmen on the Aborigine Corridor, Enugu, to commemorate Enugu State at 29, disclosed that Enugu State Improvement Affiliation turned the successor of the WAWA State Motion as renamed by the then Army Administrator.
He mentioned the folks of the state can be celebrating an age-long dream and visions of its founding fathers, who sacrificed a lot to free the WAWA folks from oppression and exploitation.
He mentioned the management of the Affiliation would proceed to help the federal government of Enugu State, below the management of Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
He recalled that it had up to now made high quality recommendation and proposals to the federal government of the State within the space of high quality schooling, agricultural/industrial revolution, rural improvement, safety, Adada State creation, restructuring of Nigeria, amongst others.
