The Federal Authorities has accepted the reopening of the Marine Seashore Bridge and the Eko Bridge in Lagos State.
The federal government had shut the Eko Bridge and Marine Seashore Bridge in March and Could respectively for repairs whereas declaring it unsafe for public use.
Additionally, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Mr Olukayode Popoola, had introduced that the continued emergency rehabilitation of the EkoBridge linking Alaka is sort of accomplished and shall be prepared to be used in October.
Nevertheless, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, in a press release by the ministry’s Director of Press and Publicity, Boade Akinola, on Saturday, directed that each bridges be reopened to site visitors on Monday, October 19, 2020.
