Ebonyi council elections maintain August 15

Native authorities elections in Ebonyi State will maintain on August 15, the state Impartial Electoral Fee has stated.

Chairman of the fee Jossy Eze stated it could proceed with all processes put in place for the election earlier than it was suspended attributable to COVID-19.

He stated the fee would republish names of certified candidates, who received the primaries.

Eze reiterated that the election could be carried out in step with COVID-19 protocol.

The election was scheduled for April 25 however shifted as a result of Coronavirus.

Governor David Umahi has suspended the state coordinator of FADAMA III, Dr. Cletus Nwakpu.

Nwakpu’s sack was introduced on Wednesday at a digital state government council assembly, presided over by the governor.

The governor stated Nwakpus’ suspension adopted a report by the Fiscal Accountability Fee, which indicted him of economic misappropriation and different acts.

Secretary to the State Authorities Dr. Kenneth Ugbala has been appointed appearing coordinator, whereas Head of Service Dr. Chamberlain Nwele was directed to self-discipline Nwakpu in accordance with the Civil Service guidelines.

The governor gave the Fiscal Accountability Fee seven days to get well cash looted by Nwakpu.

He ordered the fee to petition the EFCC to take over the matter and prosecute Nwakpu if he didn’t remit the embezzled funds inside seven days.
