Delta govt clears air on releasing new academic calendar for schools

The Delta State’s Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Schooling has disclosed that it hasn’t launched a brand new tutorial calendar for the 2020/21 session.

Mr Patrick Ukah, the Commissioner, made the clarification in an announcement in Asaba on Friday.

Ukah urged mother and father and guardians to ignore the 2020/21 tutorial calendar circulating on social media, reportedly emanating from the ministry.

In accordance with him, the ministry had not taken a choice on the 2020-21 tutorial calendar.

He mentioned: “The resumption was preparatory to the Fundamental Schooling Certificates Examination (BECE) organised by the Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Schooling scheduled to start on Monday, September 21, 2020.

“I questioned why mischief-makers would sit down and concoct false data that would mislead unsuspecting mother and father and guardians.

“As soon as a last resolution is taken on the matter, an official assertion from the ministry could be made public.”
