The Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, disclosed this in an announcement in Ilorin, on Wednesday, shortly after the assembly between the federal government and Muslim leaders within the state.
DAILY POST gathered that deliberations on the assembly have been centred on the spike in COVID-19 instances, the necessity for enforcement of guidelines, and the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir, the Islamic feast wherein animals are slaughtered.
In response to the assertion, “The federal government deeply appreciates the wealthy contributions of the eminent students, their assist and appreciation of the federal government’s efforts and can on Friday, July 24, 2020, make a pronouncement on the Eid-el-Kabir prayer after due consultations.”
Ajakaye, who can also be the spokesman of the state COVID-19 technical committee, mentioned: “The committee, in the meantime, is scheduled to carry varied consultative conferences with the management of the Christian Affiliation of Nigeria, CAN, market associations, transport unions, and bankers between Thursday and Friday to strengthen compliance with security protocols amid rising instances.”
The Chairman of the state COVID-19 technical committee and the Deputy Governor of the state, Kayode Alabi, chaired the assembly with the Muslim leaders and attended by a cross-section of high authorities officers and distinguished Muslim students.
The Muslim delegation was led by the Imam Imale of Ilorin, Sheikh Abdullahi Abdulhameed, Chief Imam of Offa, Sheikh Muhydeen Husayn, Justice Salihu Oloruntoyin Muhammed, Justice Abdulmutallab Ahmad Ambali, Professor Badmus Yusuf, Justice Idris Abdullahi Haroon and Dr Abdulrazaq Amuda.
