Three males have been remanded by an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court docket over an alleged armed theft.
The accused individuals had been; Muslim Saheed, Kazeem Ganiyu and Olaleye Olawale we’re alleged of rubbing Senator representing Osun west, Adelere Oriolowo.
The trio dedicated the offence on October 24, 2020, round 7:00 pm at Senator Adelere Oriolowo’s farm and residence in Iwo.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP John Idoko informed the courtroom that the accused individuals and others nonetheless at giant conspired amongst themselves to commit a felony to wit armed theft.
He stated the accused individuals armed themselves with cutlasses, iron rods, sticks and different harmful weapons and robbed Senator Oriolowo of six plasma tv set, mattresses, kitchen utensils, agro-allied supplies and chemical compounds imported valued N2,000,000 clothes, cable community decoders, deep freezer, milk processing machine, tilling machine and different valuables.
The offence dedicated is offence opposite to and punishable beneath Part 1(1) and part 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Theft and Firearms (Particular provisions) Act Cap R|| Vol.14 Legal guidelines of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
The accused individuals, nevertheless, pleaded not responsible to the costs slammed towards them by the police.
Their defence counsel I.T Tewogbade objected to the costs claiming that the police had already tendered a sister case of stealing and theft towards the accused individuals in one other Magistrates Court docket in Iwo.
In his ruling, Justice of the Peace Modupe Awodele transferred the case to Iwo Magistrates Court docket and to be heard on November 4, 2020.
The Justice of the Peace thereafter remanded the accused individuals at Ilesa Correctional Centre.
