The Federal Excessive Courtroom Ikoyi, Lagos State, on Wednesday, admitted extra proof towards Azeez Fashola, in style musician also referred to as Naira Marley.
Naira Marley was arraigned by the Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee, EFCC for offences bordering on conspiracy and bank card fraud.
He pleaded “not responsible” to the 11 counts filed towards him.
The EFCC had on February 28, 2020, via its second witness, Augustine Anosike, sought to tender in proof a compact disc containing info, evaluation and extractions from the defendant’s iPhone.
The defence counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN had objected to its admissibility, which was equally opposed by the prosecution.
In his ruling, Justice Nicholas Oweibo dismissed the objection, noting that “the disk and investigation report embrace a few of the contents extracted from the iPhone which has already been admitted in proof”.
Thereafter, prosecuting counsel, Bilikisu Buhari, knowledgeable the Courtroom that the prosecution was able to proceed with the case because the witness was in courtroom to proceed along with his testimony.
The case was adjourned following the plea by one of many defence attorneys, Akinwale Kole-Taiwo.
Kole-Taiwo appealed with the Courtroom for an adjournment as a result of, “the lead counsel, Ojo, was in Edo for one more matter”.
