South-West Governors have banned all types of open grazing within the area.
The choice was taken on Monday, after they met with the management of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria (MACBAN) in addition to safety chiefs.
Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo State), Gboyega Oyetola (Osun State), Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State), Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Mohammed Abubakar (Jigawa State) and Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi State) had been all in attendance.
Makinde, talking after the assembly, stated: “In the present day, the South West governors held a safety stakeholders’ assembly in Ondo State. The assembly was attended by our brother governors from Kebbi and Jigawa States; safety chiefs, South West zone led by the AIG Zone 11 and leaders from the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Affiliation of Nigeria.
“Collectively, we resolved to ban open grazing in all elements of the South-West. In Oyo State, we have already got a regulation in opposition to open grazing which is able to proceed to be applied by our safety businesses.
“I restated that we are going to not allow criminality as a response to prison actions. As a substitute we’ll proceed to assist our safety businesses to do their duties. Additionally, we’ll work with our folks to face our frequent enemies – the criminals; kidnappers, armed robbers and bandits.”
