Nigerian’s Home of Representatives, on Thursday, took a choice to tug the Mr Godswill Akpabio earlier than a Courtroom of legislation, for making indicting remark towards it.
Akpabio is Buhari’s Minister for Niger Delta Affairs.
Whereas showing earlier than the Home Committee on Niger Delta Growth Fee (NDDC) probing the alleged monetary recklessness on Monday, Akpabio had advised the Committee that about 60% of whole contracts on the NDDC had been awarded to members of the Nationwide Meeting.
Irked by the remark, the lawmakers handed a decision the subsequent day, giving Akpabio 48 hours to make public, the names and particulars of such lawmakers who had been beneficiaries of the contacts.
On the expiration of the 48-hour ultimatum, Speaker of the Home, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, in his opening speech on the plenary, ordered that the Minister be sued for making such “indicting” remark, which he has didn’t substantiate.
