Boko Haram commanders killed as Nigerian troops, MNJTF invade strongholds

The Nigerian troops and Multinational Joint Job Drive (MNJTF) have invaded 4 Boko Haram strongholds in Borno on Wednesday.

The Operation led by Brig. Gen Waidi Shaibu, Commander of 21 Particular Armor Brigade, focused Boko Haram strongholds in Maiyanki, Darussalam, Bula Kurege and Izza.

The camps served as coaching grounds for the terrorists and hideouts for an ambush of army personnel.

Many unit commanders and fighters have been killed, whereas extra have been injured within the floor assault and aerial strikes.

Dozens of apparatus have been captured; meals objects, Improvised Explosive Units (IEDs) making supplies and clothes have been destroyed.

“We cleared Maiyanki, Darussalam, Bula Kurege and have now taken over Izza, all former Boko Haram strong-points. Troops have been repeatedly attacked in these harbour areas”, a prime army supply informed PRNigeria.

“Heavy casualties have been inflicted on the enemy. The scenario is hard however we’re profitable. Sadly, a soldier paid the supreme sacrifice and three injured. We introduced them out. Our resolve and dedication is unshaken.”

Some Boko Haram camps have been destroyed when the brand new Chief of Military Workers, Main Normal Ibrahim Attahiru was the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in 2017.

Throughout his transient tenure, Nigerian troops eradicated 5 prime Boko Haram commanders and scores of fighters.

In October 2017, Attahiru, at a briefing, listed them as Abdu Kawuri and Abubakar Benishek. They have been eradicated in an operation on September 1 at Alafa in Bama LGA.

One other three, together with Ba’abba Ibrahim, died after a heavy battle with Particular Forces in Magumeri LGA.
