DEFENCE Headquarters on Wednesday stated that the Air Part of Operation Hadarin Daji has destroyed a bandits’ camp in Kagara Forest in Zamfara State, killing a number of hoodlums.
The airstrike was carried out on July 20, Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. John Enenche stated in a press release on Wednesday in Abuja, Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) experiences.
Enenche stated the air interdiction mission was performed after intelligence experiences indicated heavy presence of the armed bandits, together with numerous rustled livestock, in a portion of the forest.
He stated the intelligence was later confirmed by collection of aerial surveillance missions, resulting in the air bombardment of the situation.
He stated the part dispatched Nigerian Air Drive fighter jets to have interaction the situation, with their ammunition hitting targets, resulting in the killing of a number of the armed bandits.
“A few of them who had been seen making an attempt to flee camouflaged in between the livestock had been taken out in follow-on assaults.”
