The Police in Zamfara State has confirmed the killing of eight folks in Janbako village of Maradun Native Authorities Space of the State by armed bandits on Sunday.
SP Shehu Muhammad, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the killings in a press release in Gusau on Monday.
He defined that the bandits who had been many, had been on reprisal after an assault on Saturday, on a Fulani settlement by the outlawed Yansakai group.
Muhammad mentioned Mr Yaro Abutu, the commissioner of Police within the state, instantly deployed a mixed group of Cellular Police and CTU unit, who joined the Nigerian Military working within the space, to safe the affected village and its environment.
He mentioned, “The mixed group additionally engaged the bandits on arrival on the space, which noticed the bandits operating away with varied levels of gun wounds.
“Peace has been totally restored within the affected communities, however our males have continued to comb the close by bushes with a view to arresting the culprits and charging them to courtroom for prosecution.”
