The Educational Workers Union of Universities, ASUU, has mentioned authorities ought to put the identical power it put in getting the Aviation sector to work in Nigeria into the Instructional sector.
Dr Edor J. Edor, the ASUU Chairman of the College of Calabar mentioned universities would reopen inside one week, if the identical power put within the aviation sector is prolonged to Nigeria’s academic sector.
Edor disclosed this in an interview with DAILY POST.
In response to Edor: “If authorities would put the identical power they put within the aviation sector into training, then faculties would resume within the shortest doable time.
“If authorities can put the identical power and dedication within the aviation sector that allow them and their youngsters to journey to their faculties overseas into Nigerian universities, then inside one week, faculties in Nigeria would reopen.”
Edor accused the earlier and current Nigerian governments of ignoring the nation’s academic sector.
He maintained that Nigerian elites should not within the training of the widespread man.

“Even after we had a president who was himself a lecturer, issues weren’t higher. Successive regimes and the Nigerian elites have no real interest in the training of Nigerians and the reason being easy, their youngsters should not right here.
“They don’t want the widespread man to be educated as a result of training is energy. Instantly the widespread man begins to know his or her proper, these thieves and kleptomaniacs who discover themselves within the place of energy would develop into threatened as a result of all Nigeria s would have identified their proper.
“They don’t seem to be focused on creating training, they don’t seem to be,” he added.
