Driver of the car which knocked down Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile on July 14 is a civilian who had no legitimate driving papers, navy sources have claimed.
The Nigerian Air Drive (NAF) had mentioned that Arotile, Nigeria’s first feminine fight helicopter pilot, died on Tuesday on the NAF base in Kaduna State from head accidents after being hit by the automobile of a former classmate who was reversing to change pleasantries along with her.
Channels Tv reported on Saturday that navy sources who didn’t need to be named mentioned the civilian driver, accompanied by his associates, visited his relations on the Air Drive base positioned in Mando space of Kaduna metropolis on the day of the incident.
It added that upon interrogation, the driving force and former classmate, who’s now in custody with one other occupant of the car, has no legitimate driver’s licence.
A member of the Nigerian Defence Academy Common Course 64, the late Arotile hailed from Iffe within the Ijumu Native Authorities Space of Kogi State, and contributed to the efforts to rid the north-central states of bandits and different felony components by flying fight missions.
She shall be buried on July 23 on the Nationwide Navy Cemetery, Abuja with full navy honours.
