One Sunday Akpan, a 60-year-old gardener, was on Wednesday arraigned earlier than a Chief Justice of the Peace court docket in Lagos for allegedly defiled an 11-year-old fish hawker.
Akpan who was charged with defilement pleaded not responsible to the costs leveled towards him, NAN stories.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Nurudeen Thomas, whereas presenting the case advised the court docket that the defendant dedicated the offense on July 15, at 10 a.m. at his residence in Bariga, Lagos.
He alleged that Akpan tricked the minor into following him residence to gather cash for the fish he purchased.
Based on him, the offense contravened the provisions of Part 137 of the Felony Legislation of Lagos State, 2015.
Nevertheless, the Chief Justice of the Peace P.E. Nwakpa whereas delivering his judgment admitted the defendant to bail within the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Nwakpa adjourned the case till Aug. 17 for listening to.
